To open a new document, click on the button '''+ New Document''' and insert a TM number (i.e. the ID assigned to the text you want to view in the Trismegistos database), then click OK.

==Editing the Document==
Once you have opened the document, the editor allows you:

To navigate through the transcription (panel Transcription/graphic) by selecting fragments/columns and related images. You can select fragment/columns from the first dropdown menu or by scrolling the transcription and clicking on them. In the same way, once a text unit has been selected, images can be chosen from the second dropdown menu, according to their type; in any case, when you select a text unit, the corresponding image(s), if available, should automatically appear on the left side of the editor.

To add new images related to a single fragment/column, follow these steps:
# Click on the + button [[File: AnagnosisStep41.png | center | 600px | link= | alt=Plus Button]]
# Type or paste the URL of the image you want to upload
# Choose the type of image you are uploading.
# Choose the column/fragment for which you are uploading an image.
# Insert the required information about the author of the image and a time range (e.g. From: 1995 to: 2015) to date the reproduction.
# Click add.

To switch to the majuscule view and to toggle between the views with/without text supplied by the editor, with/without unclear letters.

You will have to save a norm box for the text area in the image in order to fix the reference points for the coordinates of the glyph boxes. To do this, follow these steps:

# Set the norm box: click on New in the panel Norm box, then drag the box edges in order to cover the text area in the image. Click on the button with the save icon. [[File: AnagnosisStep8.png | center | 600px | link= | alt=Setting the norm box]]
# Now the automatic recognition of the glyphs in the image can be launched. To do that, click on the gear icon find. The software will try to make boxes for each glyph. If some of the glyphs are not recognized, it is because the algorithm does not work perfectly yet.
# To automatically link the recognized boxes (marked with red colour) to the transcription, click on the map icon. Glyph boxes can also be manually created, adjusted or corrected if the automated match turns out to be inaccurate. To do this, use the panel Glyph box. #Now you can go back to the view mode. The panel Boxes on the right allows you to toggle between the “clean” view, without norm box and glyph boxes, and the “annotated” one, which shows both of them. By hovering over a letter in the image or in the text, that same letter will be highlighted both in the text and in the image.

==Reviewing and Saving==
The panel XML shows the tree structure of the file. The panel Document allows you to save the changes you made as a draft to be submitted to the board for further evaluation.
